2019 Meeting of the Minds
The 2019 Minnesota-North Dakota Alzheimer’s Association Meeting of the Minds is less than two weeks away. Each year it is an honor to support the Alzheimer’s Association and Mayo Clinic during this event. The conference goes hand in hand with our mission to not only support residents and families, but to educate as they go through this disease process. Education can make a huge impact on helping families and guide them through this journey.
We are lucky to have the opportunity to send four of our staff members to the conference this year. Part of the uniqueness of this conference is that it isn’t just for professionals. Caregivers, family members, and those living with dementia are encouraged to attend. Real life feelings and stories are shared.
In addition to our team attending the conference, two of our leadership members are slated to present at the conference this year. Jayne Clairmont, Owner and CEO is presenting on Improving Residential Care Through a Holistic Framework with the goal to share how to enhance and maximize the well being of each resident and provide excellence with leadership oversight.
Our Quality of Life Director, Katie Rinehimer, is participating as a panel member during the session, Innovations for Improving Residential Living and Ways to Participate.
“The session I’m participating in is about innovative therapies in residential care. I am speaking about the use of essential oils and how they help to support the residents giving them holistic options before the use of medications,” said Rinehimer.
Our team at English Rose Suites and b♦home Home Care has been attending the Meeting of the Minds for many years and we look forward to it each and every year.
“I enjoy attending the Meeting of the Minds because there are so many wonderful speakers that are truly there to help support both people living with memory loss and their caregivers. Having the opportunity to present gives me the chance to share what we are so passionate about at English Rose Suites and b♦home Home Care, creating normalcy for everyone we support,” said Rinehimer.
The 2019 Meeting of the Minds is being held at the St. Paul RiverCenter on March 2nd.
