Our Staff

When you meet the staff at English Rose Suites, you immediately realize that our stated mission, to provide the best care possible to our resident’s and their families is instilled in staff from the beginning. Our full-time Director of Recruiting Strategy, seeks out top notch candidates to support and care for our residents. Each candidate is carefully screened at the beginning of the hiring process.

Training

Education and training is critical to providing services to the best of our ability. We provide, in-house, in-person training to all staff upon hire. Training is provided in a variety of ways including face-to-face classroom training, “on the floor” shadowing and training, and recently 24/7 access to over 40 real-life customized training videos, 1:1 mentoring and so much more.

If additional training is requested or needed to ensure staff feel comfortable to independently work with our residents, we are more than happy to provide additional training in requested areas. Ongoing learning opportunities and resources are always available.

As part of initial training, all staff complete in person, in classroom interactive dementia training developed by nationally recognized dementia expert, Jayne Clairmont. Clairmont’s philosophy and knowledge are the driving force behind our classroom education. Skills and tools are taught and discussed in depth at an unprecedent level to ensure all staff provide top-notch, person-centered care. Our nursing team is trained in dementia at an advanced level.

Our nurses work closely with staff from the beginning of their onboarding. Our caregivers complete interactive, hands on home health aide training with teachings and instructions on specific delegated tasks taught by our trusting team. Return demonstration is completed within the initial 90 days to ensure new staff are using the proper techniques and safety precautions. These checks are not exclusive during the first 90-day period, they are also done periodically to ensure the best possible care for our residents and safety for our staff. Our nurses provide ongoing mentoring and training to all staff on a regular and as needed basis.

Monthly Staff Meetings

Each month staff are required to attend meetings on various topics. Outside learning is often brought forward to each meeting for continuing education modules (CEUs).

Each presentation is carefully planned and thought out to ensure proper and quality training. Our nursing team present on nursing techniques and new information relating to current residents in effort to provide top quality, person-center care. Our Quality of Life Director presents on day-to-day, life engagement activities, and our owner Jayne Clairmont presents on current dementia information, as well as innovative approaches to providing exquisite care. The caregivers guide us as to what their current needs for learning encompass. We strive to give them ideal tools and knowledge to be the best caregivers they can be.

Annual Competency

In addition to mandatory staff meetings, we hold annual competency training for 3 days each summer. Each employee attends a 4-hour session. Annual competency is an in person, fast paced, training session designed to refresh and reiterated information and teach new knowledge of care and techniques.

This is a fun learning environment with great outcomes. We all are able to participate by giving ideas which lead to fantastic solutions. At the end of the day we all feel so blessed to have such an incredible team!
