It’s beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
This is always the wonderful time of year full of holiday cheer. The week after Thanksgiving is always busy as we transition our décor from the burnt oranges, dark reds, and browns of fall to the evergreens, Santa reds and the colorful lights of Christmas. The pumpkins, scarecrows, and fall foliage come down and out come the Santa hats, Christmas Trees, lights and snowmen!
It takes a lot of planning and organizing to decorate five homes inside and out. Everyone lends a helping hand setting up Christmas trees, hanging up holiday wreaths and putting all of Santa’s villages in place and everything else in between. It’s always a fun time getting our residents involved in the decorating and the holiday spirit!
Throughout the year we find gratitude and joy every day, but the holidays are a time when we are all so aware of how blessed we are. The warm feelings and fond memories are all around us.
This year was extra special as we were blessed with help from the Alzheimer’s Association Young Champion volunteers who came to help decorate with our residents. Our residents had such a great time and we are so grateful for the help. It was a wonderful time had by all.
