Valentine’s Day 2016
Every year our Leadership team and caregivers prepare special activities to celebrate all of the love in our lives. Our Resident’s enjoy listening to love songs from their younger years when they were dating, baking and decorating treats, and visiting with their loved ones.
All spouses are invited over for a specially prepared Couples Lunch. All of the gentlemen in our homes give their wives flowers and a card they made for them. They enjoy getting dressed up for their special ladies and enjoying a nice lunch together.
Tiffany Gomez, our Administrator, explains “it is so important for us to be able to continue fostering the relationship between a husband and wife even though they have had to move into a different setting. It allows the spouse to be a spouse versus a caregiver. Same goes for other celebrations such as family birthdays and anniversaries.”
Valentine’s Day was a wonderful one in our homes and we hope all of our friends and family enjoyed theirs as well!
There is one thing Alzheimer’s [disease] cannot take away, and that is love. Love is not a memory – it’s a feeling that resides in your heart and soul.
