We recently completed our 2021 Annual Competency Training, which is all-staff training that takes place over three days to allow our whole staff to participate. We take this annual opportunity to invest in our staff through informative, educational, and engaging training sessions.
Each year, our trainers work hard to share new knowledge and recap important information. This year’s training modules included an overview of the English Rose approach, updates on policies and procedures, skill enhancement, programming essentials, and highlights to our newly updated benefits package. In addition, Zach Parlier, Director – Caregiver Development, gave an outstanding presentation on frontotemporal dementia (FTD), which included FTD pathology, challenging features, interventions/solutions, and the impact the disease has on both the individual and their loved ones.
Our staff also had the opportunity to sample some of the special foods and drinks our residents consume daily, to experience first-hand the unique texture and taste. Additionally, our caregivers participated in the game of Jeopardy, which provided a fun way to test their knowledge and skill. The training also included a raffle that awarded the winners gift cards to various local restaurants.
Thank you to the whole English Rose team for making this year’s training a success!
