Employee Spotlight:
10 questions with each of our Team Coordinators
We are kicking off our monthly Employee Spotlight series with our talented Team Coordinators: Antionette, Lee, Nickey, and Destiny. As team leaders who excel at providing resident care, they model caregiver best practice, help train and mentor new caregivers, support our nursing staff, and ensure our residents receive the highest quality of care.
Enjoy getting to know our team coordinators and learning what makes English Rose a special place to work. This week, meet Destiny!
Name: Destiny
Job title: Team Coordinator, Braemar Hills Home
How long have you worked at English Rose?
10 months
What do you like most about your job?
Spending quality time with the residents. I love spending the day with them, being there for them when they get up until they go to bed. I’ve worked in places where I was caring for more than 10 people at a time. Here, the ratio of one caregiver to three residents allows me to get to know who they are as people.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I love to volunteer! I volunteered at English Rose before getting a job here! I volunteer at food shelves, soup kitchens, and Bikes for Kids to name a few. My family has always volunteered. I love giving back to people in my community.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I love archery. I’ve been doing it since I was young. I mostly do it for fun. I enjoy how challenging it is and being able to be in nature.
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
Seattle. I lived there for 10 years. I love the rain, the trees, the ocean, and just the how green everything is.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions and the roots spring up and make new trees.” -Amelia Earhart
Three words to best describe you?
Energetic – Happy – Motivated
What is your favorite food?
Tacos. I make my own guac and salsa from scratch. I love food from a lot of different cultures.
Which of English Rose’s core values is your favorite and why?
Presence – it’s what separates us from other facilities where I’ve worked. Our residents are engaged and happy, and you’re able to get to know them on a whole different level.
